What Is a Reroll Account? Genshin, Star Rail, WuWa and ZZZ Explained
Updated
A reroll account is a fresh gacha account with the free starting pulls already spent and at least one 5-star character on it (an S-Rank in Zenless Zone Zero). You log in at an early level with that character on your roster and carry on from there.
The name comes from rerolling: making new accounts over and over until the free pulls give you the character you want. A reroll account is the end result of that loop, handed to a player who would rather skip the evenings it takes.
Key takeaways
- A reroll account is an early-level account with the starting pulls spent and a chosen 5-star (S-Rank in Zenless Zone Zero) already on it.
- Rerolling yourself takes roughly 20 to 45 minutes per attempt depending on the game, and a good result can take many attempts.
- Buying a Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Wuthering Waves or Zenless Zone Zero account breaks the publisher’s terms of service. HoYoverse and Kuro Games both bar it in writing.
- In Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, progress stays on the server it started on. For Wuthering Waves, check the region on the listing before you pay.
- Whoever controls the linked email controls the account. Secure the included email first (new password, 2FA on), then, in HoYoverse games, play normally for 5 to 10 days before changing other details.

What does rerolling mean in gacha games?
Rerolling means creating a new account, playing the early game far enough to get its free starting pulls, and checking what you got. If the result is weak, you abandon the account and start again. Players repeat the loop until a strong 5-star shows up, then keep that account as their main.
The appeal is simple. Your first top-rarity unit is the one your early teams get built around, and the starting pulls are a shot at one before you’ve spent anything.
The loop looks the same in all four games:
- Create a new account.
- Play the opening until pulls open up. In Genshin Impact, Wishes become available at Adventure Rank 5, during the Knights of Favonius step of the Archon Quest.
- Spend the free currency on the banner you want.
- Keep the account if the pulls landed. Otherwise, start over.
What comes on a reroll account?
A reroll account comes with the 5-star you chose (an S-Rank in Zenless Zone Zero), whatever else the starting pulls gave, and early story progress. The free pulls are already spent, so expect little or no currency left over. Each game names these things differently, and the table maps the terms for all four.
| Game | Currency and pulls | Top rarity | Starter level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact | Primogems for Intertwined Fate (limited) or Acquaint Fate (standard) | 5-star | AR10+ |
| Honkai: Star Rail | Stellar Jade for Star Rail Special Pass (event Warps) or Star Rail Pass (standard) | 5-star | TL10+ |
| Wuthering Waves | Astrite for Radiant Tide (limited) or Lustrous Tide (standard) | 5-star | UL10+ |
| Zenless Zone Zero | Polychrome for Encrypted Master Tape (limited) or Master Tape (Stable Channel) | S-Rank | IL8+ |
The level band is a floor. AR is Adventure Rank, TL is Trailblaze Level, UL is Union Level and IL is Inter-Knot Level, so AR10+ means Adventure Rank 10 or higher. At that stage the account has cleared the opening, so expect your chosen 5-star, early progress and little else.

How is a reroll account different from a starter or currency account?
In practice, a reroll account and a starter account are the same thing: an early-level account with the 5-star you picked already pulled. A currency account sits at the other end. It’s a higher-level account holding a large stock of pull currency and no fixed character, and you do the pulling yourself.
Between the two sits a character + currency account, offered for Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Here’s how the three compare:
| Account type | Levels | What you get | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | AR10+, TL10+, UL10+, IL8+ | Your chosen 5-star (S-Rank in ZZZ), little else | You want one character and will play the story yourself |
| Character + currency | Genshin and WuWa only | Your chosen 5-star plus leftover pull currency | You want the character now and a head start on the next banner |
| Currency | AR50+, TL50+, UL45+, IL40+ | A large currency stock, no fixed character | You’d rather pick your own pull targets |
Each listing states its own currency figure, so compare the listing rather than the label. Every type we sell for a game sits on that game’s hub: Genshin Impact accounts, Honkai: Star Rail accounts, Wuthering Waves accounts and Zenless Zone Zero accounts.
Other stores use names like “endgame account” or “primogem account” for loosely similar things. Those are market labels, and what they cover changes from seller to seller. Read the level, the characters and the currency on the listing itself.
Should you reroll yourself or buy a reroll account?
Rerolling yourself costs nothing but time, and the time adds up fast. One attempt takes roughly 20 to 45 minutes depending on the game, and a good pull can take many attempts. Buying hands you those hours back, but it costs money, breaks the publisher’s terms and leaves you relying on a seller.
| Game | Per attempt | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact | About 30 min | Up to AR5, where Wishes open |
| Honkai: Star Rail | About 30 to 40 min | The prologue, to your first Warps |
| Wuthering Waves | About 30 to 45 min | The opening, to your first Convene |
| Zenless Zone Zero | About 20 to 40 min | The opening; skipping cutscenes shortens it |
Timings come from the Game8 and Prydwen reroll guides for each game. Ten attempts at 30 minutes is five hours, and nothing says the tenth one lands.
What rerolling yourself gets you
- It’s free. You pay in time only.
- The account is yours from the first login, on your own email.
- You stay inside the publisher’s rules on account trading.
- You play the opening story yourself, first time through.
What buying gets you, and what it costs
- You skip the loop and start with the character you picked instead of a random result.
- You pay for it, and the purchase breaks the terms of service (next section).
- Someone else played your first hours of story.
- You depend on the seller handing over full control, including the linked email.

Is buying a reroll account against the rules?
Yes. Buying a Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Wuthering Waves or Zenless Zone Zero account breaks the publisher’s terms of service. HoYoverse’s terms, which cover Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, bar sharing account details with third parties and selling virtual currency. Kuro Games’ terms for Wuthering Waves bar buying, selling, renting or giving away an account.
The clauses are specific. In the HoYoverse terms of service, section 2g covers passing account information to third parties or using someone else’s account. Section 8b covers selling or trading virtual currency and goods. In the Kuro Games terms of service, section 2(3) covers buying, selling, renting or giving away an account, and section 12(2) treats virtual items as non-transferable.
What a publisher does about a breach of its terms is the publisher’s decision. No seller controls it. Be wary of any seller that promises otherwise.
What can go wrong
- Recovery by the email owner. Whoever controls the email linked to the account can reset its password and take it back. That could be the seller or the person who first made the account.
- Publisher action. The terms bar account trading, and enforcement sits with the publisher.
- Wrong region. In Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, progress can’t move to another server. Wuthering Waves buyers should confirm the region on the listing. More on that below.
What to check in any seller
- You get the game login and full access to the linked email.
- The listing states the server region, the account level and the characters on it.
- Delivery terms are written down, including what happens if an order never arrives.
- Buyer reviews are public and readable.
Once you’re in, secure the included email first: change its password and turn on 2FA. In HoYoverse games, play normally for 5 to 10 days before changing other details, because of Risk Control checks on fresh logins.
What we control. We check every account by hand against its listing before it goes up. Delivery is usually within minutes of payment (up to 24 hours in rare cases). If an order still hasn’t arrived after 24 hours, you can ask to cancel it and get a refund. Every account has a 5-day warranty from the date of purchase. It covers an account that doesn’t match its listing, or the original source taking access back. Extended Warranty at checkout replaces that with 30 or 60 days. All sales are final because the products are digital, and the full terms are in our refund policy. Read what buyers say on our customer reviews page.
Which server should you pick for a reroll account?
Pick the region you’ll actually play on, because in HoYoverse games your progress stays on that server for good. Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero don’t move progress between servers. A starter on the wrong region means starting again, so settle the region before you look at characters.
| Game | Server regions | Can progress move later? |
|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact | America, Europe, Asia, TW/HK/MO | No. HoYoverse offers no transfer. |
| Honkai: Star Rail | Regional, chosen when you first play | No. Progress doesn’t sync, even with a linked HoYoverse account. |
| Zenless Zone Zero | Europe, America, Asia, TW/HK/MO | No. The choice is permanent. |
A good default is the region you live in, or the one your friends already play on. Wuthering Waves listings state their region, and if one doesn’t, ask before you pay.
FAQ
Is a reroll account the same as a starter account?
In practice, yes. Players call it a reroll account, and our store lists it as a starter account: an early-level account with a chosen 5-star (S-Rank in Zenless Zone Zero) already pulled.
Can the original owner take a reroll account back?
Yes, if they still control the email linked to it. Whoever holds that email can reset the password. Make sure you get full access to the linked email and secure it first: change its password and turn on 2FA. In HoYoverse games, play normally for 5 to 10 days before changing other details.
How long does it take to reroll yourself?
Roughly 20 to 45 minutes per attempt, depending on the game. Genshin Impact takes about 30 minutes, Honkai: Star Rail 30 to 40, Wuthering Waves 30 to 45 and Zenless Zone Zero 20 to 40. A good result can take many attempts.
Can I change the server on a reroll account after buying it?
Not in Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail or Zenless Zone Zero. Progress stays on the server the account started on. For Wuthering Waves, check the region on the listing before you pay.
Can a bought account get banned?
Buying an account breaks the publisher’s terms of service, and what the publisher does about it is up to the publisher. No seller can promise an outcome either way, so weigh that before you buy.
The short version
A reroll account is an early-level account with the starting pulls done and a 5-star (or S-Rank) you picked already on it. It swaps money for the hours you’d spend rerolling. The costs are the publisher’s terms and trust in the seller. If that suits you, check the region and email access, then pick your game from the account hubs above for current prices.
